What is the illico app?
With the illico app, illico customers can watch live or on-demand TV and Club illico content on their compatible devices. And with Club illico mobile, they can also use the app’s virtual remote control to control their terminal.
The illico app and the Club illico app are not the same. With the Club illico app, you can access French-language original content, exclusive series and movies on your compatible devices. You can’t watch live or on-demand TV. Also note that only Club illico subscribers can use the Club illico app.
How does illico On Demand work with the illico app?
With illico On Demand, you can watch what you like, when you like:
- You can still receive calls when watching something. Your video will automatically be paused during the call and will resume where you left off.
- You can re-watch content as often as you want during the rental period. You can find a list of your rentals in the Resume Viewing section. Note that if you started re-watching a movie from the start, you won’t be able to resume viewing it from where you initially interrupted it.
illico On Demand is not currently available abroad.

Can you see a list of channels, but can’t select them? You might not be subscribed to them. If you think you’re subscribed but you can’t select them, contact Videotron Customer Service. One of our representatives will be happy to help you.
How does the Remote Recorder work?
You’ll never miss any of your favourite shows with the Remote Recorder:
- If you receive a call while programming a recording, your programming session will be interrupted for the duration of the call. You’ll be able to resume the session after the call.
- You can use your Remote Recorder when abroad, but roaming charges will apply.
What content can I access through my illico app?
The illico app gives you access to Club illico content and any channels you subscribe to, as well as the free content for the general public. Due to contractual constraints, you can’t watch paid content on an iPad or iPhone. To subscribe to a TV package, contact Videotron Customer Service. One of our representatives will be happy to help you.
Content can only be viewed from within Canada.
How can I watch my content?
When watching content through the illico app, you will get better image quality with an Internet connection on a mobile or Wi-Fi network with a 10 mbps bandwidth.
You can pause your video when a call comes in. When the call is done, you can resume from where you left off. If the network changes (from mobile to Wi-Fi, or vice versa), the video will resume automatically after a few seconds.
Your account gives you access to one viewing at a time only.
How does using the app affect my data usage?
Viewing content in the illico app will consume data, whether you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network or a mobile network. One hour of continuous viewing in HD uses about 2 GB; in SD, it uses about 560 MB. When using a mobile network, content viewing defaults to SD to limit data usage. However, you can change the settings in the illico app.
