What is the class action?
On August 21st, 2015, the Honourable Justice Pepita G. Capriolo from the Superior Court of Québec condemned Videotron G.P. in class action no 500-06-000411-070 to pay indemnities to some Unlimited Internet Extreme High Speed service subscribers. This judgment follows the class action instituted by the Union des consommateurs regarding the 100 Gb cap implemented on October 1st, 2007, to the unlimited IEHS service (Union des consommateurs v. Videotron G.P., file no 500-06-000411-070 from the Superior Court of Québec (district of Montréal).)
Am I entitled to compensation?
You may be entitled to compensation if:
- As of October 1st, 2007, you subscribed to Videotron’s Unlimited IEHS’s service on a 12 or 24-month contract
- You concluded or renewed this contract before August 14th, 2007
If you still subscribe to at least one Videotron service and you are a group member, a credit corresponding to the amount of damages you are entitled to was automatically issued to your account.
Good to know
Group members who have subscribed or renewed their Unlimited Internet Extreme High Speed service contract after June 28, 2007 but before August 14, 2007, are entitled to an additional indemnity of approximately $400 (net amount of the fees fixed by the court), which was also automatically issued to their account.
