Videotron Webmail — Use with a messaging app on a computer
In the section corresponding to your operating system (Windows or Mac), select the messaging app you wish to use to access your emails.
If needed, refer to the list of incoming and outgoing POP/IMAP servers to complete the configuration.
Windows
- Open Mail. Click Settings.
- Click Accounts.
- Click Add an Account.
- Click Other Account.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Click Sign-in.
- Configuration is done. Click Done.
- In the File menu, click on Add Account.
- Type your full email address, then click on Connect.
- Wait while Outlook searches for the correct configuration.
- Type your password, then click on Connect.
- Wait while Outlook searches for the correct configuration.
- The account is now created.
- Uncheck the Set up Outlook Mobile on My Phone box then click on Done.
- Open Outlook and select Files from the menu bar.
- Click on Account Settings, then on Account Settings.
- Click on New.
- Check Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types and click on Next.
- Check POP or IMAP and click on Next.
- In the field marked Your Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- Make sure the account type is IMAP.
- In the field marked Incoming Mail Server, type imap.videotron.ca in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), type smtp.videotron.ca in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Username, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Click on More Settings.
- Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
- Check My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication.
- Click on the Advanced Tab.
- Change the Incoming server (IMAP) port number to 993.
- Select SSL as type of encrypted connection.
- Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port number to 465.
- Select SSL as type of encrypted connection. Click OK.
- Click on Next to test the configuration.
- Once the account settings test is complete, click Close.
- Configuration is done. Click on Finish.
- Open Windows Live Mail. In the Accounts tab, click Email.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password. Check Remember This Password.
- In the field marked Display Name for Your Sent Messages, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- Check Manually Configure Server Settings. Click Next.
- Choose IMAP as server type.
Incoming Server address: imap.videotron.ca
Port: 993 - Check Requires a secure connection (SSL).
Logon user name: enter your Videotron email address in lower case and without accents.
Outgoing Server address: smtp.videotron.ca
Port: 465 - Check Requires a Secure Connection (SSL).
- Check Requires Authentication. Click Next.
- Configuration is done. Click Finish.
- Open Windows Mail. Click Tools.
- Click Accounts.
- Click Add.
- Choose E-mail Account. Click Next.
- In the field marked Display Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails. Click Next.
- Choose IMAP as incoming e-mail server type.
Incoming mail server: imap.videotron.ca
Outgoing e-mail server name: smtp.videotron.ca
Check Outgoing Server Requires Authentication. Click Next. - In the field marked E-mail Username, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Check Remember Password. Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Properties.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Change Outgoing mail port number to 465.
- Check This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL).
- Change Incoming mail port number to 993.
- Check This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL).
- Click OK.
Configuration is done.
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird. Click on the Menu button and on the arrow to the right of Options.
- Click on Account Settings.
- Click on Account Actions.
- Choose Add Mail Account.
- In the field marked Your Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Check Remember Password.
- After a search, Thunderbird will configure itself. Click Manual Config.
- Incoming : Enter 993 as port and select SSL/TLS as value of SSL.
- Outgoing : Enter 465 as port and select SSL/TLS as value of SSL.
- Click Done. If the Done button is not available, you must click Re-test first.
- Configuration is done.
Mac
- Open Mail. Click on Mail then Add Account.
- Select Add Other Mail Account. Click Continue.
- In the field marked Full Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Click Create.
- Click Done. Configuration will redirect to Mail homepage.
Configuration is done.
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird. Click Tools.
- Click on Account Settings.
- Click on Account Actions.
- Choose Add Mail Account.
- In the field marked Your Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- In the field marked Password, enter your password.
- Check Remember Password. Click Continue.

- In the field marked Username, enter your Videotron email address in lowercase and without accents.
- Make sure the account type is IMAP.
- In the field marked Incoming Server, type imap.videotron.ca in lower case and without accents.
- Check Use SSL to Connect.
- In the field marked Outgoing Server, type smtp.videotron.ca in lowercase and without accents.
- Check Overide Default Port. Change port to 465.
- Check Use SSL to connect.
- Click on Add Account.
- In the field marked Account Description, enter a name for your email inbox.
- In the field marked Full Name, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- Click More options.
- In Authentication, select Use Incoming Server Info. Click OK.
- Configuration is done.

Videotron WebMail — Use with a messaging app on a mobile device
In the section corresponding to your device’s manufacturer, refer to the instructions on how to access your Videotron WebMail account from the messaging app embedded in your mobile device.
Apple (Mail)
- In the Settings, select Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account.
- Enter the required information and tap Next.
- If needed, enter the information for IMAP or POP servers.
- Tap Save.
Google (Gmail)
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Passwords & accounts. If you can’t find Accounts, tap Users & accounts.
- Under Accounts, tap Add account.
- Choose Personal (IMAP).
- Follow the on-screen instructions. If needed, enter the information for IMAP servers.
Samsung (Gmail)
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Add account > Personal (IMAP).
- Follow the on-screen instructions. If needed, enter the information for IMAP servers.
If you change your email account password, you must update your password in the settings of the messaging app you are using.
Other email account – Use with a messaging app on a mobile device
To use an email account other than your Videotron Webmail account with a messaging app, consult the manufacturer’s instructions.
Updating my email account information on a mobile device
Here are the steps to follow to update your email account (Videotron or other) information in your mobile device’s messaging app.
Apple (Mail)
- In Settings, select Mail > Account.
- Tap the account you want to edit, then Account Settings.
- Edit the information and tap OK.
Google (Gmail)
- Launch the Gmail app and open the top left menu.
- Tap Settings at the bottom of the menu, then tap the email address to be edited.
- Tap Incoming Server Settings to edit IMAP settings.
- Tap Outgoing Server Settings to edit SMTP settings.
- Tap done to save the changes.
