Where to find your Helix Wi-Fi network’s name and password
You can look up your Wi-Fi network’s name and password in different ways:
With the Helix Fi mobile app
- On the app’s home page, locate the Share Your Wi-Fi box and tap the blue link Share Wi-Fi.
- Your password will appear below the QR code, followed by your hidden password.
- Tap the eye icon to view your password.
Good to know
The Share Your Wi-Fi feature is a convenient and secure way for your guests to connect to your Wi-Fi network. They simply scan the QR code that appears, without you having to disclose your login information.
On your TV
- Use the voice command and say, “Wi-Fi password”.
With the Helix Fi gateway, both networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) have the same name by default. The gateway automatically manages the one on which your equipment connects.
How to connect a mobile device to Helix Wi-Fi
Apple iOS
To connect an Apple iOS device, like an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to your Wi-Fi:
- Tap the Settings icon, then Wi-Fi.
- If the Wi-Fi is set to Disabled, tap the button to set it to Enabled.
- Wait a few seconds. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will appear.
- Under Networks, tap the name of your local wireless network.
- Enter your password and tap Join.
- Wait a few seconds while your device acquires an IP address from the network.
- A check mark will appear next to the network name to confirm that the device is connected.
Android
To connect an Android device, like a Samsung, Nexus, Sony, or Huawei mobile phone, to your Wi-Fi:
- Tap the Settings icon, then tap Connections.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- If the Wi-Fi is set to Disabled, tap the Wi-Fi toggle to enable it.
- Wait a few seconds. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will appear.
- Under Available Networks, tap the name of your local wireless network.
- Enter your password and tap Connect.
- Wait a few seconds while your device acquires an IP address from the network.
- The network name appears in blue with the word Connected under it to confirm that the device is now connected.
How to connect a computer to Helix Wi-Fi
Windows
To connect your Windows desktop computer or laptop to your local Wi-Fi network:
- From the taskbar, click the Network icon near the time to display available networks (click the “arrow tip” to display hidden icons, if needed).
- Select your network.
- Check the box to connect automatically, then click Connect.
- Enter your password and click Next.
- After a few seconds, the menu will indicate that the computer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
MAC OS
To connect your MAC OS (X or 11) desktop computer or laptop to your local Wi-Fi network:
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the menu bar. If the Wi-Fi is set to Disabled, click on the Enable Wi-Fi button or the Wi-Fi toggle to enable it.
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon and select your network’s name from the list.
- Enter your password and make sure to check the Remember This Network box.
- Click Connect.
- The full signal bars in the Wi-Fi icon indicate that the computer is now connected.
How to connect other smart devices to Helix Wi-Fi
In addition to your phones and computers, you can connect other smart devices to your Helix Fi gateway, like a smart TV, a wireless printer, a gaming console, or home automation equipment.
Good to know
To connect your smart TV
- In the Network Settings menu, select Wi-Fi or Wireless and wait for the device to find the available networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network name (also called SSID) from the list of available networks.
- If your home Wi-Fi network doesn’t appear, enter its name or search for it manually.
- When prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password (also called a Network Key).
To connect your wireless printer
- Access your printer’s control panel.
- Select Setup, which is usually a wrench icon.
- Select the name of your network (also called SSID) from the list of available networks.
- If your home Wi-Fi network doesn’t appear, enter its name or search for it manually.
If you can’t connect the printer, print out a wireless network test report to troubleshoot the issue.

With the Helix Fi mobile app :

- Enter the new name or password and tap Apply Changes.
With the Helix Fi app online :
- Launch the Helix Fi app and select the Connect section.
- Click on the blue link See Network under your network name.
- Click on Edit at the top right.
- Enter the new name or password and click on Apply Changes.
For optimal performance, we recommended keeping the same network name for 2.4 and 5 GHz. However, if you encounter problems connecting certain devices that don’t support 5 GHz, different network names can be used:

- Check the box beside Use different names and passwords for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

- Click on the blue link See Network under your network name.
- Click on Edit at the top right.
- Check the box beside Use different names and passwords for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Change the name of one of the networks.
- Tap Apply Changes to save the changes, then try connecting your device again.
You can then reactivate the option to use the same name for both networks. If not, reconnect all your devices to the desired network.
Note that this procedure is not possible if you are using Wi-Fi pods to extend your network coverage.
