A certified refurbished cell phone is a device in a new or almost new condition which may have slight imperfections, but has been:
- Inspected
- Cleaned
- Reset
- Tested
The device data has been erased and an update to the latest version has been performed.
Repackaged, the device you will receive will arrive in a new generic packaging designed especially for it.3
The battery is included with the device. Additional accessories vary from model to another.4
Our certification process includes a series of tests that each device must pass 100% before it can be sold as a certified refurbished phone by Videotron. In this way, we ensure that the performance is equivalent to that of a new phone.
Battery life may vary depending on prior usage. When certifying the device, we ensure that the battery is operating at at least 80% of its initial capacity. If not, we will replace it with a new battery. Certified refurbished phones have not been repaired, remanufactured, or refurbished by the original manufacturers.
More than 30 certification points are evaluated on the phone’s main components:
- Battery at least 80% of initial capacity, charging up and displaying correctly
- All connections work, e.g. Wi-Fi, network, Bluetooth, and others
- All buttons, keyboards, and vibration modes work
- Cameras, speakers, and microphones work
- All ports and card slots are fully functional
- Every pixel on the display works, images and colours are clear, sharp, and bright

Yes. Videotron offers a basic 12 months2 warranty on refurbished devices.
The 30-day satisfaction warranty applies to a new Mobile plan following its activation, or upon renewal.
You have 30 days after activating the service to terminate the agreement and get a refund of the service fee and purchase costs.
Conditions for eligibility for the 30-day satisfaction warranty:
- Have used the call time and data included in your monthly Mobile plan up to a maximum of 50% (or 100% if you are a person with a disability), unless these options are unlimited.
- Return the device and its accessories in their original packaging, in almost new condition.
Conditions
1 Videotron Simplified Payment option: This limited-time offer applies to Videotron Business customers who subscribe, and maintain their subscription to a Mobile plan. Two monthly payments related to the purchase of the device will be recorded on the first invoice. If the agreement is cancelled before the end of the 24-month period, the remaining payments shall be borne by the customer, and if the device is discounted, an indemnity corresponding to the monthly amount of the discounted device multiplied by the number of months remaining, including applicable taxes, will apply. It is possible that these offers cannot be combined with other special offers and may entail a credit check. Offers, services, and rates are subject to change without prior notice. 2 Certified refurbished phones warranty: If you purchased a certified refurbished phone and it turns out to be defective, a Videotron 12-month warranty applies (parts and labour). As soon as you notice a defect that is not one of the exclusions below, visit a Videotron store near you before the end date of Videotron’s certified refurbished warranty, which begins on the device activation date or the device purchase date if activation occurs more than 30 days after purchase. The manufacturer's warranty doesn’t apply if the device is broken or defective for any of the following reasons: an accident, a case of force majeure, modified equipment without our permission or misuse of the device or equipment.
3 Battery life may vary depending on prior usage. Refurbished devices have not been repaired, remanufactured, or refurbished by the original manufacturers.
4 Any accessories included with a refurbished phone, whether new or used, might not be the original ones and are not covered by the warranty.
