How does data sharing work?
Data sharing consists of combining the data included in a customer’s different Mobile plans and sharing it among some or all of their Mobile Lines.
What is the purpose of data sharing?
Data sharing allows you to combine all the data included in your Mobile plans and create one or several sharing groups with your different Mobile Lines, based on your needs. If a Mobile Line’s data usage exceeds what is included in yout plan, you can use the shareable data to avoid overage fees.
Are all plans combinable?
Data can only be shared between plans with the same coverage, whether it is our Canada, Canada-US, or International plans.
Can I track the data usage for a person within a sharing group?
Mobile data usage can be tracked in the Business Customer Centre. To get usage reports, simply consult the Business Sharing Access groups you wish to check.
How can I see if all data has been shared?
Each person in a sharing group will receive, based on the notification settings in place, a text message warning them that they have exceeded their data limit.
Can I disable the sharing option and give data to each user of a sharing group?
Yes. You can disable the sharing option and redistribute data to each user of a group for their individual Mobile Line. Contact us to do so.
Is the bonus data offered with certain plans shareable?
Yes. The bonus data offered upon subscription to or renewal of a Mobile plan can be shared. It is therefore possible to divide this data between the members of a sharing group.
