When you exceed the territory limit of your plan or the territory covered by Videotron or partner networks, you will be charged roaming fees.
To avoid paying fees, turn off mobile data roaming in your mobile settings.

How to know if my mobile works abroad
Verify your phone’s compatibility with the network abroad by consulting the operators and technologies available in your destination.
Your mobile is automatically unlocked (Voice and Data) in Canada, the US, and abroad, unless you request otherwise.
If your mobile was not purchased from Videotron, verify if there is a roaming agreement between the country you'll be travelling to and Videotron. Check with your device's manufacturer to make sure that it has the right frequencies for your destination. You can usually obtain this information from a device’s manufacturer.
Frequently asked questions
When you use your mobile phone in roaming mode, it is possible that the network won’t capture your signal. :
A number of factors can cause this, including:
- Network topography;
- Type of construction where you are;
- Whether or not the place you are attempting to access the network from is on a border (between two networks)
- Absence of an automatic transfer protocol between the Videotron network and its partner network.
If you do not receive a signal in certain zones, you can help us to improve our network coverage through gradual deployment by contacting Technical Support.
Accidental roaming happens when you use your mobile phone in an area that is part of Videotron’s extended network, and the signal from your device is accidentally captured by an unrecognized antenna. Accidental roaming usually occurs when you are in a border area, i.e. one served by both Videotron’s extended network and another network.
Yes, your device will automatically access the Videotron partner network. However, if you’re in the middle of a conversation, it may interrupt. If this happens, just call the other party back.
