Internet Code

The Internet Code protects Canadians who subscribe to Internet services. It applies to the largest Internet Services Providers with facilities, including Videotron.

What is the Internet Code?

The Internet Code, which came in effect on January 31, 2020, was created by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) so that customers of retail fixed Internet access services are better informed of their rights and responsibilities contained in their contracts with Internet service providers including Videotron.

How does the Internet Code protect me?

  • By offering easy to understand plain language contracts
  • By displaying clearer information about prices
  • By avoiding bill shock
  • By adding greater flexibility in contract terms

For more information about the Code, visit the CRTC website.

Customers with accessibility needs are encouraged to view The Internet Code.
