Understanding International Mobile plans

Learn how to use our Canada-US and Canada-France plans.

What are the territories covered by the international Mobile plans?

Canada-US plans

  • All 50 US states, including Alaska and Hawaii
  • Porto Rico
  • US Virgin Islands

Canada-France plans

  • All of mainland France
  • Corsica

Is there a usage limit on my plan abroad?

Yes. You can use your plan outside Canada for a maximum of 120 days (consecutive or not) per year. The year begins on the day you subscribe to a Canada-US or Canada-France plan. The start date stays the same, even if you change plans.

Can I add and use Data Adds-on that can be used outside of Canada?

Yes, but only if you have an international Mobile plan. You can only add Data Adds-on for use in the US or France if those territories are included in your plan. Add a Data Add-on by calling our customer service.

Can I subscribe to a plan that covers the US or France for the duration of my trip, then revert to a plan that only includes Canada when I get back?

Yes. You can change your plan at any time and revert to a plan that only includes Canada when you return home. If you wish to do so, we recommend changing your plan at the end of your billing cycle to simplify your billing and data tracking.

Can I use bonus data outside of Canada?

No. The annual bonus data included in your plan can only be used in Canada.

Are long-distance calls included in the international plans?

Yes. Long-distance calls to numbers in territories covered by your plan (Canada and the US or France) are included. However, if you call a number outside the territories covered by your plan, long-distance charges apply. See long-distance rates by destination..
