The Helix TV app is available directly on LG and Samsung smart TVs. Easily access your content anywhere in your home without a Helix TV terminal! Find the app in the app stores of compatible TVs.
Equipment required
To use the Helix TV app through your smart TV, you need:
- A subscription to a Helix Internet and TV plan or to a Helix Internet and TV App plan
- An LG or Samsung ID, depending on the brand of your TV
- An LG or Samsung brand smart TV, manufactured from 2018
The Helix TV app can only be used on an LG or Samsung smart TV if the device is connected to your Helix Internet network.
Adding the Helix TV app to a smart TV
If the app appears in the app store for your LG or Samsung TV, it can be installed on the device.
- Go to App Store from the smart TV.
- Find and select the Helix TV app, then start the download.
- Once the download is complete, launch the app. A pairing window appears onscreen upon first use.
- Select Sign in, then scan the QR code displayed onscreen using your mobile, or go to https://code-helix.videotron.com on your PC or mobile device.
- Enter the six-digit code that appears on the screen to pair your Helix TV app to your device.
- Log in using your My Account or Customer Centre credentials.
Using the Helix TV app on a smart TV
The Helix TV app interface on LG and Samsung smart TVs is very similar to the Helix TV terminal one.
Use your TV remote to browse through the interface, using the clickpad arrows or buttons with navigation arrows and the Back (Return) button. Select an item by clicking the centre of the clickpad. Since you are using your TV remote, voice command is not supported.
You will get access to the entire Helix TV content catalogue, including Vrai and Club illico (or illico+), as well as most of the app’s features, such as programming and viewing recordings, accessibility options, Parental Control, etc.
How to use the Helix TV app features
Features not available with a smart TV
- You can’t order and watch pay-per-view content (e.g. Indigo channels)
- Only free On Demand content and paid content previously rented on your Helix TV terminal (whose rental period has not ended) are available on the Helix TV app
- You can’t use the Download to go feature to download recorded content
- illico TV subscribers can use the Helix TV app on a smart TV, but they can’t use the recording functions

Frequently asked questions about using the Helix TV app on a smart TV
If the smart TV is not connected to your home network, you can only manage and view your completed recordings. The other functions of the Helix TV app are not available.
If your TV’s RAM is less than 2 GB:
- Replay is not available
- The Mini‐Guide is not available
- The Recording Notification in the Program Guide (red dot) does not appear, but you can check scheduled recordings in the Saved > Scheduled section.
