Everyone’s voice must be heard
This miniseries of three one-hour episodes plunges us into the Archambault prison riot hour by hour, including what motivated it, and its aftermath and consequences.
On July 25, 1982, five people died and dozens more were collateral victims. Such an explosion of violence doesn’t happen spontaneously. Certain conditions had to be met, and that’s what we’re going to find out. The prison environment was very different in those days. The relationships between guards and inmates that prevailed at the time of the tragedy will be called into question. In front of the camera, we hear from the guards’ loved ones, grieving families, former inmates, journalists, police officers, psychologists, and lawyers.
