How to prepare for the move of Home Phone
If you are moving, make sure you let our Customer Service know as soon as possible.
In addition to making your change of address, the representative will schedule with you an installation appointment with a technician at your new home.
How to disconnect my Home Phone equipment before I move
To disconnect your Home Phone equipment, namely your multifunctional modem, follow these steps:
- Disconnect the power cable.
- Unscrew the coaxial cable from your multifunctional modem. If a safety socket prevents you from unscrewing it, cut the coaxial cable about 4″ from the safety sleeve with strong cutting pliers.
- Make sure you bring the modem to your new home for the installation by the technician.
Can I have my Home Phone service suspended if my new home is not ready?
If your new home is not ready, we can suspend your Videotron services between your disconnection and your reconnection. You have up to 45 days following the deactivation date of your services at your old address to reconnect these same services to your new address. Note that even if your services are not immediately reconnected, you will continue to benefit from your multi-product discounts.
Good to know
While waiting for your Home Phone service to be installed, you will still have access to your voicemail if you are keeping the same phone number. Just dial your phone number, press 1 as soon as you hear your voice message and follow the instructions.
