How to disconnect my Home Phone equipment before I move
If you are planning on moving, make sure you let our Customer Service know as soon as possible. Then, to disconnect your Home Phone equipment, namely your multifunctional modem, follow these steps:
- Disconnect the power cable.
- If you can’t unscrew the coaxial cable from your multifunctional modem due to a safety sleeve, cut the coaxial cable about 4” from the safety sleeve with strong cutting pliers. Make sure you bring the modem to your new home.
Good to know
If you are reluctant to do this on your own, we can send a technician who will disconnect your multifunctional modem at no cost. However, it is still your responsibility to bring the modem to your new home.
How to reconnect my equipment at my new home
To reconnect your multifunctional modem once in you are in your new home, make sure your Home Phone service has been activated at your new address and you will be able to reconnect it directly. For more information, contact Videotron Customer Service.
Can I have my Home Phone service suspended if my new home is not ready?
If your new home is not ready, we can suspend your Videotron services between your disconnection and your reconnection. You have up to 45 days following the deactivation date of your services at your old address to reconnect these same services to your new address. Note that even if your services are not immediately reconnected, you will continue to benefit from your multi-product discounts.

Good to know While waiting for your Home Phone service to be installed, you will still have access to your voicemail if you are keeping the same phone number. Just dial your phone number, press 1 as soon as you hear your voice message and follow the instructions.
