How to enable or disable audio description on Helix TV
You can enable or disable audio description easily by voice command, on the video control panel, or in the Accessibility Settings.
With the voice command
Say “Audio description” to enable or disable audio description.
On the video control panel
- Press or the middle button on the voice remote to display the video control panel.
- Select and press the middle button to enable or disable audio description.
- An Audio description tag will appear with the options ON or OFF.
In the Accessibility Settings
- Press to open the Accessibility Settings.
- Select Audio Description, then press the middle button to enable or disable it.
- Press to go back to watching your show. If the show has an audio description track, you should now hear it.
Good to know
Note that there will be no audio description during commercials or scenes with dialogue with little action.
How to find content with audio description?
You can easily find shows and movies with audio description by browsing the TV Listings. Shows with audio description have the logo in their description at the bottom of the screen.
If voice guidance is enabled, it indicates that audio description is available, if applicable, when viewing information on a show.
Good to know
The audio description logo is often displayed at the beginning of a show.
How to enable or disable audio description on the Helix TV app
On mobile or tablet
- Open Helix TV app, then tap the icon in the upper left corner.
- Go to Accessibility.
- Tap the toggle to enable or disable Audio description.
On the web
- Log in to the Helix TV app online with your Helix credentials, then click the icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Go to Accessibility option.
- Click the button to enable or disable Video Description.
