Create a wireless access point by enabling Bridge Mode on the Helix Fi gateway
In Bridge Mode, your Helix Fi gateway’s built-in router is disabled. You must therefore connect all your equipment to your personal router.
- Connect the network cable to the router’s WAN port to one of the gateway’s LAN ports.
- Make sure you don’t plug anything into any of the gateway’s other LAN ports, as only the port your router is connected to will be functional after you enable Bridge Mode.
- In a web browser, type http://10.0.0.1 in the address bar and log in by entering admin as the username and password in the other field or use the password you have already chosen.
- Select Gateway and then At a Glance from the central menu.
- Enable the Bridge Mode button.
- Click OK to confirm. Your gateway will reboot.
Warning: You can’t enable Bridge Mode at the same time as the Ethernet WAN mode used via a wired partner network. It is also impossible to use the Bridge Mode if your Helix installation includes an optical unit that feeds your gateway via an Ethernet network cable.
