Your illico TV terminal has various settings to configure, such as image resolution, audio format, and energy saving. Configure your device to enhance your TV experience.
How to configure illico terminal’s language and audio settings
Changing illico TV New Generation terminal’s language
To change your terminal’s display language:
- Press the yellow triangle (A) button on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select General settings.
- Select the language and choose Français or English.
- Press your remote SETTINGS button twice to bring up the General Settings menu.
- Select a Language setting to change its configuration.
- Language: Keyboard – Allows you to choose the language for the illico keyboard keys.
- Language: Screen – Allows you to choose the on-screen display language for the various user interfaces.
Choosing illico TV New Generation terminal’s audio format
To choose the audio format used to transmit the sound from your terminal to your tv or audio system:
- Press the yellow triangle (A) button on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select Equipment Settings.
- Select Audio format, then choose the format to use with your TV or an external audio device.
If your equipment doesn’t have the Dolby Digital system, try Pulse Code Modulation (PCM).
Select Volume Control in the device settings to indicate whether the illico remote will control the volume of the terminal or that of your TV (recommended).
- Press your remote SETTINGS button twice to bring up the General Settings menu.
- Using the arrows , scroll down through the menu and select Audio: Digital Out.
- Choose the audio format transmitted by the terminal via the digital audio sockets.
- Dolby Digital™: The audio signal will be in Dolby Digital™ format.
- Other: The audio signal will be in PCM format.
- HDMI: The terminal itself negotiates the audio format with the TV.
Select Audio: Volume Ctrl in the settings to choose whether the illico remote control will control the volume of the terminal (Variable) or that of your TV (Fixed) (recommended). To balance the sound level between ambient sounds and dialogues, select Audio: Range and choose an option.
Choosing the audio language with the illico TV New Generation terminal
To watch your programs in the language of your choice, when available:
- Press the yellow triangle (A) button on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Using the arrows , select Accessibility.
- Select Audio Accessibility.
- Press OK/SELECT and choose an option between Français, English or Spanish in the SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) field.
The default language is English. To change the language you will hear during a broadcast, when available:
- Press your remote SETTINGS button twice to bring up the General Settings menu.
- Using the arrows , scroll down through the menu and select Language: Audio.
- Choose an option between Français, English or Español.
How to change illico terminal’s screen resolution
With illico TV New Generation
- Press the yellow triangle (A) on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select Equipment Settings.
- Select TV picture resolution, then choose a picture resolution compatible with your TV.
On HD terminals, 1080p resolution is only available on Video On Demand (if your TV is compatible and connected to HDMI). To activate it, select illico On Demand: 1080p resolution, from the equipment settings. UHD terminals enable 1080p resolution in the TV picture resolution setting.
- Press your remote SETTINGS button twice to bring up the General Settings menu.
- Select Set: Picture format, then choose in which picture format you want your device to display HD content.
How to set up illico terminal’s power saver mode settings
With illico TV New Generation
- Press the yellow triangle (A) on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select Equipment Settings.
- Select Automatic Standby mode to have the terminal turn off automatically after a period of inactivity.
- Select Programmed Sleep Time to have the terminal turn off automatically at the desired time.
- Select Programmed Wake Up Time to have the terminal turn on automatically at the desired time.
- Press your remote SETTINGS button twice to bring up the General Settings menu.
- Select Timer: Sleep to define in how many minutes the terminal will turn off.
- Select Timer: Turn Off to turn off the terminal at the desired time.
- Select Timer: Wake-Up to set the terminal to turn on automatically at the channel and time desired.
Frequently asked questions about settings with illico TV
Not available with First Generation illico terminals. The name of the illico New Generation recorders can be changed. This allows the recordings to be sorted by terminal name.
- Press the yellow triangle (A) on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select Application Preferences.
- Select HD Video Recorder.
- Access Terminal Name, then press OK/Select.
- Choose one of the suggested names.
To choose a name other than those suggested, select Custom name, and use the letters on the keyboard to name your device. Select OK to save the change.
With illico TV New Generation
- Press the yellow triangle (A) on your remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select Equipment Settings.
- Select Power-off Display to choose what will be displayed on the terminal when it is turned off.
With illico TV First Generation
- Press the SETTINGS key on your remote twice to access the general settings.
- Select Display: Power Off to choose what will be displayed on the terminal when it is turned off.
- Select Display: Power On to choose what will be displayed on the terminal when it is turned on.
Simplify your view of the Program Guide by filtering the channels.
- Press the Guide button on your remote, then on the yellow triangle (A).
- Using the arrows , select the desired filter from the available options.
- Press OK/Select.
Once the filter is enabled, its name will appear in the upper left corner of the Program Guide. To disable the filter, go back to step 1 and select All Channels.
Important : The filters you enabled will not be saved when you turn off the terminal.
Choose alphabetical or numerical sorting of the channels:
- Press the Guide button on your remote, then on the green diamond (D).
- Using the arrows , select Sort.
- Select By channel name or By channel number.
- Press OK/Select.
To access preferences about the Program Guide, go to Settings menu, then select Application Preferences > Program Guide and TV.
- Press the Guide button on your remote to display the Program Guide.
- Press the yellow triangle (A).
- Select the desired option to change the Program Guide view.
To change the appearance of the Program Guide and of the other menus generated by the terminal, follow these steps:
- Press the Settings key twice on your remote to access the General Settings menu.
- Select Set: Color Scheme.
- Select the desired colour scheme and press the yellow triangle (A) to confirm your selection.
When you turn on the illico TV New Generation terminal, it automatically tunes in to VOX HD, on channel 609. You can change your terminal’s power-on channel to the channel of your choice or to the last channel you were watching before you turned off your terminal.
- Select Menu, then Settings.
- Select Application Preferences.
- Select TV and Program Guide.
- Select Power-on Channel.
- For a channel of your choice, enter the channel you want or press OK to display a list of channels. For the latest channel, select from the drop-down menu Last Channel, which appears above channel 001 or above your favourite channels.
