FAQ about Wi-Fi 6
Yes. If you have the white Helix Fi 2 gateway, all compatible devices on your network will use Wi-Fi 6. Make sure to run the most recent updates to your computer’s network card drivers in order to establish their connection with the gateway’s Wi-Fi 6.
Wi-Fi 6 is backwards compatible, supporting devices compatible with previous Wi-Fi technology. So your Wi Fi 5 compatible equipment will work with the Helix Fi 2 gateway and may even be more efficient.
Many smart phones or recent devices (from 2019) support Wi-Fi 6. We recommend that you consult the manufacturer’s website to verify if there is an “ax” mention in the device’s Wi-Fi settings, for example “Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax”.
Yes. The new Helix Fi 2 gateway enables you to optimize your Helix Internet service with multiple benefits, including Wi-Fi 6.

The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) feature of Wi-Fi 6 speeds up data transmission and also reduces latency. Since data is transmitted in smaller packets to multiple devices in a single dispatch, the transmission is optimized to contain as much information as possible per dispatch, without lag.
