The rebellious investigator Victor Lessard and his rather boorish teammate Jacinthe Taillon must investigate the deaths of a man and a woman found with their necks pierced by what appears to be a medieval torture instrument. Back on the job after a mission gone wrong, Lessard must solve the mystery, which quickly turns into a series of ritualized murders that violently confront him with his past.
