Extend your wireless network with Wi-Fi pods
Wi-Fi pods are small devices you plug into a power outlet. Once you pair them with your Helix Fi Gateway, they enable you to extend your home’s Wi-Fi network coverage. Wi-Fi pods help improve your wireless connection by eliminating areas where coverage weakens, also known as “dead zones”. You’ll then enjoy consistent coverage in every room!
These pods are optional, since the Helix Fi Gateway is often enough to provide you with a fast connection and reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home. However, if you notice your Wi-Fi signal is weak or inconsistent in certain rooms, you should consider getting some pods.
Remember that several factors may affect your internet speed, such as your connection type or the number of devices used. Get more tips on how to optimize your home network’s Wi-Fi connection speed.
How can I get Wi-Fi pods?
To get Wi-Fi pods, log in to My Account, go to the Services and Equipment section and purchase the number of pods you need. You’ll receive them in the mail and can then easily install them yourself using the Helix Fi app.
The recommended number of pods depends on various factors, such as the size of your home, its construction materials and where your Helix Fi gateway is located.
If you want to extend your coverage to cover rooms that are in the same area of your home, one or two pods may do the trick. If your home has three or four bedrooms and several floors, or if there are several areas with a weak signal, we recommend that you add a set of three Wi-Fi pods to your installation package.
