How to use Call Waiting
There are several options when a waiting call comes in.
Warning: Command and button names may vary depending on phone models and providers.
iPhone
- During a call, press End & Accept or Hold & Answer.
- If you’ve put a call on hold, press Swap to switch between calls or Merge Calls to talk to both callers at the same time.
- Press End Call to end the current call and automatically switch to the waiting call.
Samsung
- During a call, drag the green Call icon from left to right to answer the incoming call.
- Press Hold or End Call.
- If you’ve put a call on hold, select the Switch option to switch between calls.
- Press the End Call icon to end the current call and automatically switch to the waiting call.
Others (Android)
- During a call, use the green Call icon to answer the incoming call or select Answer & End Other Call.
- If you’ve put a call on hold, select the Switch option to switch between calls.
- Press the End Call icon to end the current call and automatically switch to the waiting call.
If you have subscribed to Videotron’s Voicemail service, the call will go to voicemail if you ignore it. If you have not subscribed to Voicemail, your second caller will hear a busy signal.
How do I make a three-way call on my mobile device?
If you are speaking with someone on your mobile device and wish to add a third caller, you need to set up a three-way call.
It is possible to connect up to six people with the Three-way Calling option. Here is the procedure:
- During a call, you must put the first caller on hold.
- Then press Add Call.
- Using the keyboard, dial the number of the person to be added or access your list of contacts and select a number.
- Click Merge. This will start the three-way call.
Warning: The Three-way Calling is totally free when it’s used inside your call coverage area. If you talk with people outside your area, there may be additional fees.

Frequently asked questions about Call Waiting on a mobile phone
The Call Waiting feature is enabled on your mobile phone by default. You do not need to do anything to be able to use this feature.
If someone tries to call you when you’re already on the phone, you’ll hear a short beep. When you receive a second call, the caller’s number will automatically appear on your phone if you have Call Display. If the second caller is on your contact list, his or her name will also be displayed.
Call Waiting is enabled at all times. You’ll get notified of incoming calls even when you’re on a conference call. If you ignore an incoming call and you have subscribed to Videotron’s Voicemail service, the call will go to voicemail. If you have not subscribed to the service, the caller will hear a busy signal.
You can temporarily disable Call Waiting from the Settings menu on your mobile phone or with the dial pad, following these steps:
- Dial #43# from your mobile.
- Press Call.
- If you wish to enable Call Waiting again, repeat the same step.
If you’re unsure whether Call Waiting is enabled or not, dial *#43# to find out. A message will appear on your phone screen telling you if it is enabled.
- To answer a second call, press the green Call icon. The first call is automatically put on hold.
- Press the red End Call icon to hang up and return to the other call.
- To set up a three-way call, press Call again.
If the VoLTE feature is enabled on a device that doesn’t meet the requirements for VoLTE to work properly, you will not be able to use Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Three-way Calling, etc.
